The site lies between the Phoenix and the Oude Delft.
Between these two streets, a long stretched urban strip is formed. This
strip borders the historical centre and is perforated by a fine secondary
structure of small alleys. The total site is filled up with dwellings,
pressed together by the two adjacent streets. An incision in the mass
follows an urban route and leads to the french garden.
The houses are 3,6 meter wide and vary in length. The spaces are divided
in three zones; one 'wall' of serving areas on one side of the corridor
and a sequence of living spaces and patios that bring light on the other
side. The corridor is used as an extension zone for the living and serving
spaces.
